Members and Spouses Breakfast: A Different Revolution
The American revolution and George Washington’s ‘great experiment in freedom’ are distinctive for their view of constutionally ordered freedom that stands between the bookends of history — anarchy and authoritarianism. Over the last generation a different view of revolution and freedom has risen and made inroads across American life. To this point, responses have been like trench warfare or a grand game of whack-a-mole, when the crisis calls for leadership like that of Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln defined reality in strategic terms and called for what today needs to be a ’new new birth of freedom.
